Approximately 340 vessels will gradually be integrated into the new network, with initial sailings commencing today. Additional vessels will be phased in over the coming months, ensuring a seamless transition.

“We are now ready to commence the phase-in of the new network. Over the last year, we have carefully planned this to ensure that all our customers experience a smooth transition. With its innovative design, we believe our customers will benefit from increased reliability, flexibility, and more competitive offerings.”
Johan Sigsgaard, Chief Product Officer of Ocean at Maersk

The transition period will continue until late May, as vessels shift into the Gemini Cooperation and phase out of previous agreements Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd had with other carriers. June 2025 will mark the first full month where all vessels operate entirely under the new Gemini schedules.

The shared network will cover major East/West trade routes, consisting of 29 mainliner ocean services and 28 agile intraregional shuttle services. This structure aims to provide enhanced efficiency and improved service reliability for global shipping customers

On January 27, 2025, Maersk held a media briefing detailing the launch and expected benefits of the new ocean network.
