CMA Shipping 2025 to Spotlight Key Maritime Issues: Safety, AI, and Cybersecurity
A new, free-to-attend conference stream at CMA Shipping 2025 will delve into critical challenges affecting the maritime industry, with a focus on safety, AI, decarbonisation, and cybersecurity.
Taking place from April 1 – 3, 2025, at the Hilton Stamford Hotel & Executive Meeting Centre in Connecticut, USA, this year’s event marks the 40th anniversary of North America’s leading maritime gathering.

The addition of this new conference stream will ensure more professionals gain essential insights into evolving industry challenges. Hosted on the Expo Stage, it will run alongside the main conference program, providing expert perspectives on risk mitigation, operational safety, and emerging threats.
“While curating the agenda for CMA Shipping 2025, it became clear that making safety and technological advancements more accessible to the industry was a priority,” said Joanna Crisan, Senior Conference Producer at Seatrade Maritime, who is leading the programming of this year’s event.
Industry leaders from Shipman & Goodwin, Marlink, West of England P&I Club, SWCA Environmental Consultants, WeatherGuy, and DNV Maritime Advisory have been confirmed as participants.
The ‘Technical, Innovation, and Deep Dive’ stream will take place on April 2 – 3, 2025, covering key topics such as:
- Oil Be There for You: A deep dive into U.S. oil spills, natural resource damage claims, and solutions
- Maritime Cyber Threats Unmasked: Data-driven insights into cybersecurity risks
- Decarbonising Through Operational Cost Reduction
- What’s Next – Ready for Safe Operation
- An Update on the Role of Nuclear Energy in Maritime

“The broader CMA Shipping community will benefit from these discussions, with renowned experts like Dr. Ralph Markarian from SWCA Environmental Consultants and Rick Shema, Certified Consulting Meteorologist (CCM) from WeatherGuy, LLP, leading key sessions,” Crisan added.
Access to the Expo Stage is included in all CMA Shipping 2025 registrations, which are now open. Since 1985, CMA Shipping has been the premier platform for connecting maritime professionals across North America, offering in-depth content on the industry’s most pressing issues.
