MSC has officially announced the launch of its new Alpaca service, a standalone weekly route set to begin operations in September 2025, offering exceptionally fast transit times between the Far East and the West Coast of South America.

This new route will feature market-leading speeds, particularly between Ningbo, China, via Busan, South Korea, to Callao, Peru. Designed with efficiency and reliability in mind, the Alpaca service enhances MSC’s network with direct calls to several key Chilean ports, strengthening the company’s presence in the region.

Additionally, the service boosts connectivity to Bolivia by linking to vital trade gateways at Arica and Iquique, providing greater access for inland South American markets.

A standout feature of this service is its alignment with the Chilean cherry season, during which it will operate as MSC’s Cherry Express. Leveraging MSC’s advanced iReefer technology, exporters will benefit from the fastest and most reliable shipping solution to Asian markets, ensuring cargo freshness, integrity, and real-time visibility throughout the entire supply chain.
