MSC to Launch Direct Brazil–Abu Dhabi Reefer Route

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) is introducing a new direct service for refrigerated cargo connecting Brazil with Abu Dhabi, starting in October.
The route is designed to provide faster transit times and enhance South America–Middle East trade flows, with Abu Dhabi positioned as a central transshipment hub. From there, shipments can be redirected to other Gulf countries and Asian markets.
According to MSC, the new service will deliver reefer cargo to Abu Dhabi in less than 33 days, while shipments to Shuwaikh, Kuwait, will take 38 days, and to Hamad, Qatar, 39 days.
The maiden voyage will depart from Itajaí, in Brazil’s Santa Catarina state, with the following rotation: Buenos Aires, Rio Grande, Itajaí, Navegantes, Paranaguá, Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Walvis Bay, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Qingdao, Busan, Ningbo, Shanghai, Shekou, Singapore, Colombo, Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Paranaguá, Itapoá, Itajaí, and Buenos Aires.
With this addition, MSC aims to strengthen its reefer cargo offering, giving South American exporters and Middle Eastern importers more reliable access to key trade routes with improved efficiency.
